Coaching for Diabetes Face to Face or Online

Have you been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes?

It is a life changing moment but don’t despair there is plenty you can do to help yourself.

You will have been told that it is a lifelong progressive chronic condition. Even though this is true the fact that you have an illness that you will have to live with all of your life can be hard to come to terms with.

You will then get all the scare stories about diabetic complications and what might happen to you in the future. Even though these are very true they are sometimes told to you at a time that your brain can’t process all this new information. Often newly diagnosed people can go into denial. They will take the medication given and do nothing else.

It is not surprising that 40% of people with diabetes said they struggled with their psychological wellbeing since being diagnosed. This information is provided by Diabetes UK.

The point of coaching for diabetes is to motivate you to take control of the condition. You will gain information, tips and tricks to help you with managing, controlling and monitoring. You will have support on your journey. Even though it is estimated that 1 in 16 people in the UK have diabetes it can be a lonely experience because it's not a great topic of conversation with your friends.

Face to Face Sessions are available in Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire. Easily accessible in the Midlands about 23 miles from Birmingham. Close to Warwick, Leamington Spa, Banbury too.

However if it's too far to travel I also offer online sessions

As long as you have access to the internet via phone, computer or tablet you can access online coaching. A good connection is important and you need to be able to find a confidential space where you won't be interrupted for an hour.

I started operating online initially to help people who found it a struggle to leave their homes due to a chronic illness. I found it worked so well and clients too were very suprised. Some clients had inital reservations and without exception became complete converts to this way of working.

The benefits of counselling and therapy online are:
No travelling time
No getting stuck in traffic
Not having to find somewhere to park
Good for those in remote areas and would have to travel a long way to access the service

I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of empowering you to take control of your diabetes

I have 17 years experience in helping clients who have experienced difficulties with :

  • Chronic Illness such as ME/CFS/Fibromyalgia
  • Relationships
  • Panic Attacks
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Redundancy
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Chronic pain
